I’ve said it before, but being trusted to capture a family’s portraits year after year is the highest honor as a family photographer. I love getting to know my families and they truly do become more like friends as the years pass… especially families like this one. Lisa’s family has been trusting me with their memories ever since their oldest was born 7 years ago. This year, I was thrilled to meet them in Congress Park for their family session!
After 7 years of working with this family, we had a first during our session together! It was the first time they brought their dog with them! We had so much fun with the girls, and everyone shared a lot of laughs throughout the session. It’s so hard to believe how big Quinn and Laiken are now. Their snuggly sibling portraits are some of my favorites, and I love how cozy they are after reacting to one of my favorite prompts to get those cuddles and smiles (“pretend your nose is a marker, and draw a rainbow on your sister’s cheek!”). I hope these prompts never stop working on these girls!
Can I share a little secret with you about their Congress Park family portrait session ? This client went shopping the day before her session and found everything at Kohls! She found the most adorable outfits for the girls, and the whole family looked phenomenal. Blue and white is my favorite color combination that I recommend to most families when they’re looking for an easy way to coordinate outfits. It’s a fairly neutral color palette that compliments most home decor, and it looks beautiful on camera. Lisa decided on mismatched patterns but everything worked so well together and looked perfect against the greenery of Congress Park!
I’m so happy with how this Congress Park family portrait session came together and I’m already counting down the days until our portraits next year!
Save this post for later!
