This session just has my heart!! Jim reached out to schedule a family portrait session as a surprise for his wife, which is just the sweetest idea! With three little boys at home, he was eager to create portraits of her with each of their sons, along with a beautiful family portrait to hang in their home. I love it when husbands want to gift their wife a portrait session, and I was thrilled to help him with this surprise. We put together a beautifully framed and wrapped gift certificate for her to open, and then everyone got to look forward to session day at Congress Park.

I had a blast with this family! Leo, Jack, and Max definitely kept me on my toes. But like I always do with active kids, I brought out my favorite games for the session and kept their energy high with tickles and lots of laughs. The kids had a lot of smiles to share, and their favorite part was swinging from their parents’ arms. Since Jim had made a point of explaining that he wanted to ensure they had portraits with each of the boys, I made sure to spend time capturing each pairing, plus lots of portraits of the three boys together too. There’s nothing like seeing all of your children smiling back at you!

Congress Park turned out to be the perfect location for their family portraits. We walked around the pond and everyone cuddled up by the gorgeous stone staircase in the park. The greens and greys looked amazing against the blue, white, and grey outfits that they chose. Everything about this session felt timeless and easy. I know that these classic portraits will look stunning displayed in their home for many years to come!
