This family was such a joy to photograph, and the girls were filled with giggles and games as they cuddled and danced together for some very sweet portraits on Cape Cod. I often see Lilly Pulitzer dresses during our beach portrait sessions on Cape Cod, and I love the summery vibe. They’re a great way to bring a pop of color to your beach portraits (see more ideas on what to wear for your beach portraits here!). For this family, the girls wore the fun patterns and mom and dad stuck with neutral outfits to complement their daughters. Everyone looked amazing as they walked along the beach and played together.

Cape Cod Family Portraits in Chatham MA

Lighthouse Beach is one of my favorite spots for family beach portraits at sunset. The beach has an extra deep expanse of sand dunes sprinkled with seagrass, and the water is always calm because of the barrier of the North Beach Island just off the shore. It’s a popular spot for seals and sailboats, and truly a gem of a location. If you are considering this location for your family portraits, keep in mind that it is not ideal for family members with limited mobility because of a steep set of stairs going down to the beach, and the vast expanse of sand to cross to get to the water. But if it works for your family, I truly believe it’s one of the most beautiful areas for your Cape Cod family portraits!
