Sweet Maizey recently celebrated her second birthday a classic pink bow cake smash. I loved seeing her and her family in the studio for another milestone session! I’ve been photographing Maizey since she was born, so getting to see her each year and watch her grow is such a joy.

Two years old is one of my favorite ages to photograph. I adore how toddlers are beginning to show so much personality, curiosity, and independence, all while still fitting into that tiny, lovable little package. Their giggles, expressions, and bursts of energy make every moment of the session feel spontaneous and full of life.

A Classic Pink Bow Backdrop

For Maizey’s birthday portraits, we designed a classic pink bow backdrop for her cake smash setup to match the beautiful dress chosen from The Beaufort Bonnet Company. The soft pink tones and sweet bow details created the perfect feminine backdrop for this special milestone.

Maizey’s dress was absolutely adorable. The Peter Pan collar and the length were the perfect fit for this sweet little toddler. I love how cute she looked in this dress, and how beautifully the soft, pink color photographed in the studio.

Embracing the Two-Year Old Energy

Of course, no two-year-old portrait session would be complete without embracing a little bit of that wonderful toddler energy! Maizey’s family portraits were super playful and full of laughter. We embraced the wild toddler spirit that is so common at this age. Because that’s what we do in our sessions – we capture your little ones just as they are in this moment. Two year olds bring ALL THE ENERGY, and I am here for it! The result is a gallery filled with genuine smiles, playful expressions, and joyful energy that defines this special age.

It means so much to me when families invite me back year after year to document their milestones. Watching Maizey grow from a newborn into this sweet, expressive two-year-old has been an honor, and I’m so grateful to continue capturing these memories for her family.
