There is something extra special about photographing twins, whether at the newborn stage or slightly older like these sweet twins, Lillian and Theodore. Their timeless studio milestone portraits were the perfect way to celebrate this exciting stage, as well as document the unique personalities that are already beginning to emerge. Watching these two interact was such a joy.

Theodore was definitely the more serious of the two. He spent much of the session carefully observing everything around him, taking it all in with thoughtful, serious expressions. However, when he decided it was time to smile, his entire face lit up. His smiles were pure sunshine and absolutely worth the wait.

Lillian, on the other hand, was full of energy from the moment she arrived. She wiggled, laughed, and happily soaked up all of the attention. She loved being in front of the camera and brought so much joy and movement to the session. Her happy personality shined through in every portrait.

One of my favorite things about milestone sessions is that babies are beginning to show us exactly who they are. I love hearing their sweet giggles, or watching their faces break out into a huge smiles as they react to familiar voices or silly sounds. That’s exactly what we captured with Lillian and Theodore. This twin milestone session was more than just documenting how they look at this age, it was a chance to preserve this moment in time and capture who they are becoming.

Years from now, their family will look back at these images and remember Theodore’s thoughtful and curious nature and Lillian’s joyful energy.
