One of my favorite parts of being a newborn photographer is getting to meet families at such a tender, meaningful moment in their lives. Meeting Baby Molly and her family for her light and airy newborn portraits at my Saratoga Springs studio was truly so special. When talking to mom on the phone for the first time, she shared that they had moved to the Saratoga Springs area from Syracuse. She also told me how much she loved light & airy newborn photography. However, she struggled to find a photographer locally whose style felt like the right fit. With her second baby, she actually made the drive all the way back to Syracuse to photograph with her previous photographer!
We both had a good laugh, because I completely understood. I did the same thing when my second baby was born, driving all the way to Connecticut to one of my wish list photographers for newborn portraits. Sometimes, when you find a style and experience you truly love, you’re willing to go the extra mile (literally!).
She knew that with baby number three, that long drive would be a little less realistic, so she started her newborn photographer search again, and I was absolutely thrilled that she found me for a light & airy newborn session right here in Saratoga Springs.
We had such an amazing time together, and Molly was an absolute gem for the family portraits. She was calm, cozy, and perfectly snuggly, through the session. Capturing the portraits of this sweet newborn girl with her two big sisters, Julia and Lily, was the highlight of my day. These two girls were so loving and sweet with Molly, and we captured the most adorable family memories for them.
These sibling moments are always some of my favorites to capture, because they tell such a beautiful story of growing families and brand-new bonds. These are the images that, years from now, will remind them exactly how it felt when Molly first joined their family.
Sessions like this are the reason I love what I do. Creating light, airy, connection-filled newborn portraits for growing families is such a gift. I’m so grateful this family trusted me to document this chapter for them. Baby Molly is so lucky to have such loving big sisters and parents. I can already tell she’s going to be very well taken care of.
