There is something so incredibly sweet about six-month milestone sessions. Babies are sitting up, full of smiles, and just beginning to show off their little personalities! Finn’s session was the perfect example of why this age is one of my absolute favorites to photograph. I’ve had the joy of photographing this family for the past seven years, capturing six-month portraits for all of Finn’s siblings along the way. When they reached out to schedule Finn’s adorable 6 month baby portraits, it felt extra special to continue that tradition and finally meet their newest little guy. They made the drive up from Connecticut for their session, and I truly loved seeing the whole crew together again and meeting the newest addition.
Finn was all smiles from the moment he arrived. He is such a happy little guy and clearly adores his big brother and sisters. Watching them snuggle up close to him and make him laugh was heart-melting. These sibling connections are always some of my favorite moments to document during milestone family portraits.
Why Six Months Is the Perfect Milestone
Six-month portraits are such a fun blend of sweetness and curiosity. At this age, babies are strong enough to sit independently and are still so snuggly. During Finn’s session, I focused on capturing all the things I love most about this stage, including him sitting up confidently, with the biggest smiles and giggles, and pushing up during tummy time. During these sessions, I always make sure to document the close-up details like finger dimples as they lay on their backs grabbing their little toes, as well as the quiet, tender moments gazing at mama that show just how safe and loved they feel. These little details and moments are the ones that become the most treasured over time.
