There is something so special about documenting newborn sessions at home where so many of your family’s memories will unfold. The tiny details you’ve spent months preparing, the nursery you’ve lovingly put together, and the quiet moments of getting to know your newest little love all deserve to be remembered. I recently had the pleasure of photographing sweet baby Palmer during an in-home lifestyle newborn session. Her nursery was one of the most adorable spaces I’ve seen! Inspired by Winnie the Pooh, the room was filled with the sweetest storybook details, soft colors, and thoughtful touches that made it feel cozy and inviting. I also had the joy of capturing their lifestyle maternity portraits at home. Getting to return and document this next chapter felt like such a beautiful continuation of their story.

Lifestyle Newborn Session at Home

One of my favorite things about lifestyle newborn photography is that we get to capture your family in this sweet season of life. Your home is where you’ll spend those first sleepy mornings, where you’ll settle into new routines, and where countless little memories will be made. It’s also the place you’ve worked so hard to prepare for your baby’s arrival. Rather than bringing your baby to the studio, we create portraits in the comfort of your own surroundings. There’s no need to pack a diaper bag, or worry about getting everyone out the door on time. You don’t even need to put your shoes on! Instead, you can stay cozy at home, take your time, and enjoy a relaxed session while I document the tender connections and meaningful details.

I love incorporating natural interactions and simple moments throughout the home. Snuggling together on the bed, holding your baby near a favorite window, or spending time together in the nursery you prepared all become beautiful, meaningful portraits. There’s always room to take breaks, feed your baby, change outfits, and simply settle into the experience without feeling rushed. Another wonderful advantage of an in-home lifestyle newborn session is the opportunity to include your pets! For so many families, pets are an important part of the family, and I love when we can incorporate them into lifestyle portraits. These two pups were full of curiosity at their new little sister.

Winnie the Pooh Nursery

I absolutely adored Palmer’s nursery! A nursery is such a special part of preparing for a baby. From choosing the colors, theme, and furniture to selecting artwork, books, and all the little decorative details, there’s so much thought and love that goes into creating this space. Palmer’s Winnie the Pooh theme was especially sweet, with adorable storybook-inspired touches with these iconic characters from the Hundred Acre Woods. I love photographing these details during an in-home newborn session because they’re such an important part of your baby’s story. The nursery is where you imagined all those sweet moments with your little one reading bedtime stories, rocking them to sleep, and watching them grow.

It was such an honor to document this sweet family and their adorable nursery. I loved seeing their love and connection, all in the relaxed setting of their home.
