Every mom wants and deserves beautiful family photos that show your children at these ages and the connection everyone shares. These images are ones you’ll be able to display in your home for years to come. However, sometimes actually getting the photos takes a lot of work and planning. Scheduling family photos means you need to coordinate a time, place, and outfits. Then once you get there, you need to bribe your toddler to cooperate, and somehow get the whole family looking happy at the same time. Sometimes thinking about all you have to do is enough to make you put it off for another year. As a mom myself I understand the stress that comes with planning and scheduling family photos, which is why as a family photographer I have sought to solve all those problems for moms and create the easiest family photos you’ll ever take.
I’ve built a stress-free experience for moms as a whole to make this process as easy and enjoyable as possible for busy families. You don’t need to arrive with a plan, a bag full of activities, or a perfectly rehearsed idea of how your session should go. You don’t even need to know where to start. I anticipate all the needs of the session and take care of it so you don’t have to. From our first conversation to the finished portraits hanging in your home, I’ll guide you through each step so you can spend less time worrying about the details and more time enjoying your family.
One of the first questions moms ask is where we should take their family photos. If you’re already juggling a million things, researching locations and trying to figure out the best time of day can feel like one more task on your list, which is when you book a family session with me, you don’t have to worry about it!
During the colder months, usually November through April, I photograph families in my Saratoga Springs studio or in the comfort of their own homes. Both offer a beautiful, intimate setting for portraits, without worrying about chilly temperatures, unpredictable weather, or getting everyone to an outdoor location.
My light and airy studio is designed to keep the focus on your family. With a simple, timeless setting, we can create portraits that feel classic and natural and look beautiful in your home for years to come.
In-home, lifestyle sessions are also a wonderful option and allow us to document your family in the spaces where your everyday memories unfold. I’ll help you decide which setting makes the most sense for your family, so you don’t have to spend hours searching for the perfect backdrop. However, in-home sessions come with their own set of stressors, which I also try to eliminate.

If you choose to do an in-home family portrait session, your home does not need to be spotless for lifestyle family photos. This is the number one stressor for in-home photos. I also understand how quickly a house with children can go from tidy to lived-in. Toys migrate from room to room and the kitchen counter seems to collect everything almost the instant it was cleared. The thought of having someone photograph your family at home might feel like an invitation to spend an entire weekend cleaning, but don’t!!
For an in-home session, we only need a few spaces with lovely natural light. Often, that means your bedroom, living room, or another area where your family naturally spends time together. I’ll help you identify the best spots and work with the space you have so you aren’t worrying about it. I am very good at framing a photo so you don’t see certain areas. We can move a few things out of the frame if needed, but there’s no need to deep-clean every room or hide every trace of family life.

Coordinating family outfits can be another stressful part of family photos. You want everyone to look good together without being too matchy, and ensure the outfits are comfortable enough to avoid children complaints. Instead of trying to coordinate everything and ordering new outfits, I can help you come up with a cohesive look for your family. I’ll guide you through choosing outfits that photograph beautifully, while taking into consideration colors, textures, the style of your session, and the overall look you want for your portraits.
My studio also includes a Mama Wardrobe and Baby Wardrobe, with beautiful options that make choosing outfits even easier. This allows you to borrow pieces from my wardrobe collection for your session rather than having to purchase something new just for photographs. The goal is to make wardrobe planning feel manageable, not like another project to complete. We’ll work together to find options that feel like you, are comfortable, and complement the rest of your family.
If you have a toddler, you might be wondering how on earth we’re going to get through a family photo session without someone melting down. I understand! Toddlers are unpredictable, and sometimes have their own ideas and schedules. This is understood and expected, which is why I come with a plan in place and a few tricks up my sleeve so you don’t need to worry or stress about what your child will or will not do.
After years of photographing babies, toddlers, and young children, I’ve learned how to make sessions feel fun and comfortable without turning them into a series of demands. I’ll use age-appropriate prompts, playful interactions, and little fun tricks to encourage genuine smiles and connection. Sometimes that means making everyone laugh, while other times it means letting your toddler explore for a moment or giving them a little time to warm up. Oftentimes, the sweetest photographs happen when we simply follow their lead.
You know your child best, and I’ll always welcome any insight you have about what makes them happy, but you don’t need to spend the entire session trying to manage their behavior or coax them into a perfect smile. We embrace the moment, let kids be kids, and meet them where they are.

What do I do with my hands? Where should I look? How do I hold my baby? What if I feel awkward in front of the camera? If any of these questions sound familiar, you’re not alone. Most families aren’t used to being in front of a photographer, but please know that you don’t need to know how to pose before arriving at your session, so please don’t spend any time worrying about it!
I’ll guide you throughout the session, offering simple directions so you know where to stand, how to sit, while also providing prompts for interacting naturally with your family. I’ll help you feel comfortable while making sure everyone looks their best. However, this isn’t about holding a pose and keeping a smile frozen on your face. I want to capture the way you naturally connect with your children. That means I want to capture all the candid moments that happen naturally: the cuddles, the laughter, and the way your children nuzzle into your arms. All I want you to do is enjoy your children, and I’ll take care of the rest.

I know many moms worry about getting their entire family to look at the camera at the exact same moment AND smile. It never fails that someone blinks, looks away, or makes a silly face. Sometimes those moments turn out beautifully, however I also know that every mom wants that one photo of everyone smiling and looking at the camera, which is why I build those moments into the session naturally. I don’t want it to be something you worry about or manage, especially while you are also trying to be in the photo yourself!
Usually though everyone’s favorite image turns out to be a random in between moment captured of a child resting their head on Dad’s shoulder, a mama kissing the top of her baby’s head, or siblings giggling together. You can relax knowing that I’ll guide you through the session to create variety, that results in a collection of portraits that includes those traditional photographs alongside the genuine expressions and interactions that tell your family story.
We’ve made it through the planning, the wardrobe decisions, and the session itself, and now you have a beautiful gallery of photographs of your family. Many moms download the images, share a few with family, and have the best of intentions of printing them. However, us moms are busy, and sometimes those weeks turn into months, and those photographs are still sitting on your computer. That’s why my photography experience takes it one step further and guides you through selecting print options for your family photos.
Your family portraits deserve to be displayed and enjoyed by filling your home with memories. I’ll take you through each step in the process of choosing your favorite images and creating finished artwork for your home. Whether you’re envisioning a beautiful wall gallery, a collection of framed portraits, or an album you can pull out and look through together, we’ll talk through the options and find what works best for your family and your space. I’ll help you make any decisions, so you can walk away with portraits you love and a plan for enjoying them every day.

Imagine a family photo experience where you don’t have to research locations, spend a weekend cleaning, stress about outfits, entertain your toddler, or wonder what to do in front of the camera. Instead, you just relax and enjoy the experience. Then on top of that, you’ll walk away with beautiful photographs of your family and a plan to display them. That’s the experience I want every family to have.
As a Saratoga Springs family photographer, my goal isn’t simply to take lovely pictures. It’s to make the entire process feel easier, more personal, and more enjoyable than you expected. You already have enough on your plate. Family photos shouldn’t become another source of stress or another thing you keep putting off until life gets less busy. Your children are growing, and these seasons are worth remembering. Let me take some of the work off your shoulders. I’ll walk you through every step, answer your questions, and help you create portraits you’ll treasure for years to come.
