There is something so special about families who turn their portrait session into an annual tradition. This was my third summer capturing family portraits for this sweet family and I was so excited to see them again. Each year, they travel to Saratoga Springs from Florida every summer and spend a few weeks enjoying our adorable little town. Somewhere along the way, family portraits became one of their favorite summer vacation traditions. I absolutely love getting to see them year after year! For this year’s session, we decided to meet early in the morning for playful family portraits in downtown Saratoga Springs on Broadway.

Early Morning Family Portraits

It honestly doesn’t get any better than the early morning light, the quaint storefronts, and the stunning florals and greenery. Not to mention, everything is a little quieter first thing in the morning giving us time to roam downtown without lots of people. We made sure to capture all the charm and beauty downtown Saratoga Springs has to offer along with the sweetest moments.

The four of them really leaned into the playfulness of the session, and it shows in their portraits. They came ready to have fun together! We walked, played, cuddled, laughed, and let the morning unfold naturally. There was no pressure to hold a perfect pose or make everyone look at the camera at the same time. Instead there were real, genuine smiles and so much love and connection, which is exactly what I hope for during every family portrait session.

Some of my favorite images are the candid ones where everyone is laughing, a child is snuggled into Mom or Dad’s arms, or siblings are being goofy together. Lean in and embrace those moments. Oftentimes, it’s the moments you can’t plan for that turn into the best photographs. I promise that you’ll adore the moments that we capture together! This family shared so much love and it was such a joy to capture them together, again!
