With Back to school happening, many parents are realizing how their children have changed since last year. Every fall it seems like overnight kids are inches taller, meanwhile their features, and their interests are also changing. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to capture this moment right now in a way that also provides glimpses into their personality. That’s exactly why I created Fresh Faces Portrait Sessions.

These quick, effortless children’s portrait sessions go beyond the typical school photos and are designed for busy Saratoga Springs families who want beautiful, timeless portraits of their children without the time commitment or preparation of a full portrait session. Just stop by after school, and I’ll take care of the rest. It’s that simple.

Timeless Children’s Portraits in Just 15 Minutes

Fresh Faces sessions are short and sweet with a 15 minute session outdoors at my Saratoga Springs studio. In fact, the portraits featured here, as well as others, were all captured in just seven minutes. That means no long session where we are asking your children to smile over and over, but it also isn’t as quick and impersonal as snapping one photo with the same background and being done.

Instead, we’ll use games, conversation, movement, and plenty of silly tricks to bring out genuine smiles and expressions. The goal of these timeless children’s portraits is to capture the real them, not just pose for a picture.

The Easiest Portraits You’ll Take All Year

I know how busy fall can be for families. School is back in session and there is homework to finish, sports practices, activities, and approximately a million things on the calendar. The last thing I want is for updating your children’s portraits to feel like another major commitment.

That’s why I designed the Fresh Faces sessions to be simple. They take place on select afternoons in September and October, at my studio which is just two miles from downtown Saratoga Springs. This allows you to easily pop in for 15 minutes on your way home from school or before the evening’s activities begin.

There’s very little preparation involved, too. You don’t need to plan an elaborate wardrobe or spend hours getting everyone ready. Choose something your child feels comfortable and confident wearing, arrive at the studio, and let me take it from there.

We’ll spend a few minutes playing and getting comfortable, and before you know it, we’ll have a beautiful collection of portraits to choose from.

Let’s Capture Their Personality

Fresh Faces sessions are designed for children ages 2–14, because I believe every stage of childhood deserves to be documented. A two-year-old’s giant grin looks completely different from a seven-year-old’s mischievous smile. Then there are the older kids who are developing their own interests and personality in ways you can really see in photographs. With each stage of childhood it feels like you blinked and your little one grew up. These portraits are about preserving all of those changes. As an added bonus, we can also accommodate sibling portraits too!

For just $50 per additional child, we’ll capture individual portraits of each child along with sweet sibling portraits together, just like we did for this family. This is such a fun option if you have multiple children. We’ll keep the session moving quickly and make sure everyone has a chance to shine.
